Admission to the Villa Santa Maria depends upon the needs and interests of the child and family.  Our commitment to healthy choices begins at admission.  It is important that everyone involved in the admission decision believe that the Villa is the right placement for the child.  The Villa works with boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 14 and has extensive experience with international adoptions.

Children who benefit from the treatment program are those with attachment or relational difficulties and affective regulatory problems.

Children who come to the Villa typically have received one or more of the following psychiatric diagnoses:

  • Reactive Attachment Disorder

  • Bi-polar Disorder

  • ADHD

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder

  • Depression

  • Dysthymia

  • PTSD (Trauma related difficulties)

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

  • Aspergers

  • Learning Disabilities

  • Disinhibitied Social Engagement Disorder

  • Complex Developmental Trauma Disorder

Referrals to the Villa Santa Maria by families, private physicians and clinicians, schools and other interested parties are welcome.  Joseph McGuill, the Villa CEO, personally handles the admissions process from initial contact until move-in day.  Even though families are often in crisis when seeking a placement here, there is no substitute for a thorough admissions review.  We at the Villa understand the significant resources and efforts that parents face, and therefore the importance of making an educated decision as to the best treatment for their child. Our goal is to provide families with all the information they need to be confident that the Villa is the right treatment alternative for their child.  Please contact Joseph McGuill directly to discuss your placement needs.
